Gone, but not forgotten.
After many years, the bubble has finally burst.
Suds Johnson started with a few bars of soap, a kitchen, a lot of experimenting and a slightly ridiculous idea that everyday things could be made a little better.
What followed was far more than I ever expected.
There were markets, shops, surf trips, muddy adventures, new friends, old friends, terrible batches, great batches, late nights, early mornings, and a whole lot of soap.
Most importantly, there were people who chose to support a tiny independent business and allowed Suds to become what it became.
Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who bought a bar, gave one as a present, stocked the products, recommended Suds to a friend, stopped for a chat at a market, followed along online, or simply thought the whole thing was a good idea.
I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you.
But all good things have their time.
Suds Johnson is now coming to an end.
The shop is closed. The soap has stopped being made. The bubble has burst.
But Suds isn’t really gone.
He’s just moving on.
Because some things you build become part of you. The ideas, the mistakes, the lessons, the people, the adventures and the ridiculous little things that seemed important at the time — they don’t disappear just because the business does.
So this isn’t really goodbye.
It’s just the end of this particular chapter.
Thank you for being part of it.
