By now you have either just bought a bar of Soap/Shampoo and are unsure how to keep it or have an old one sitting on the side and you want to bring it back to life. Well, I’m going to give you a few tips and tricks on how to do just that! Buckle in kids, we’re heading down trick alley!
The most popular question I keep getting is,
“how long does a bar last?”
That question can be difficult to answer as everyone has different washing routines, however, in theory and based on my practical use, I have been getting 4-6 weeks from 1 bar with regular (daily) use. Others may be more vigorous in their routine and it can be completed in a shorter time period, however, some of my customers have had bars of soap for 6 months+! Yup, that’s a fact!
Now you’re asking, “how did they do that with Suds Johnson’s real soft skin loving bar”, Well it all comes down to how you store and maintain your Soap/Shampoo bar. We have been so used to plastic bottles, just putting them in puddles of water and not worrying about them. When you leave your soap in a puddle of water it does what it’s meant to do, “turn to mush!”.
This “mush” stage is just the next process of the solid soaps transformation into the liquid phase, aka Shampoo. As I have previously mentioned in another Blog Post, a bottle of shampoo is made up of 70% water and 30% of what should be the ingredients for a real natural soap bar.
So if this has happened to you, do not fear, simply place the “mush” into a jar or container and fill it with water. Give it a stir or shake every few days and by the end of the week your mush bar or old soap bar will have transformed into its final form Liquid Soap/Shampoo.
To avoid all of this and keep your solid soap/shampoo bar for as long as possible, you will need to store it in a dry place, away from any drips or puddles. The best solution for this is a reusable Tin. Perfect for travelling and you avoid any possibility of spills with a storage tin.
The alternative to this would be a Soap Dish or as I like to call them… Soap Loungers, because when your not using them to clean your sexy body, they can just lounge around and relax knowing they won’t turn into mush! Simples!
So in short, a solid bar can be transformed into a liquid by adding water into the mix. Otherwise, be sure to store your bar in a dry place, that way you can get the most out of your real skin loving Soap/Shampoo bar! Happy days!
